Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat, is located on the banks of the river Sabarmati. It is the administrative centre of the State of Gujarat. It is also the central point of the industrial corridor between Delhi and Mumbai and often regarded as the modernized twin city of Ahmedabad.
Gandhinagar is considered as an emerging 'Knowledge Hub' with the establishment of many education institutions of national and international repute. Many parks with extensive plantation and a recreational area along Sabarmati River gives the city a green garden-city atmosphere.
The globally-acclaimed Akshardham temple is located in Gandhinagar.
